Payment Methods

Simple payment instructions for customers and staff, including Stripe card payments, ACH timing, and what pending means.

This page explains how payment works in Tempr.

Main Payment Methods

In the payment page, customers usually see:

  • Credit / Debit Card
  • Bank Transfer

Both of these are processed securely by Stripe.

Credit / Debit Card

Card payments are usually the fastest option.

Many card payments confirm quickly.

Still, staff should always check the payment status before moving a project forward.

Bank Transfer (ACH)

Bank Transfer means an ACH payment from a U.S. bank account.

ACH payments are not instant.

ACH payments usually take about 4 days to confirm.

Sometimes ACH payments take longer than 4 days.

Please do not contact support asking for an ACH status update until at least 6 business days have passed. ACH is a bank process, not an inner-office process. Asking on day 2 does not make the banks move faster.

Very Important Rule

If the payment is still pending, the project does not move forward.

Use this rule:

  • Pending = payment started, but money is not confirmed yet
  • Completed = payment is confirmed

Projects WILL NOT proceed until payment has confirmed.

That means the team should not move forward based only on:

  • a screenshot
  • a bank message
  • a customer saying they paid
  • a payment that still says Pending

What Pending Means

Pending means the payment has started, but the money has not fully cleared yet.

Plain English:

  • the customer submitted the payment
  • Stripe is still processing it
  • Tempr is still waiting for final confirmation
  • the project stays on hold until the payment clears

For ACH, Pending can last several days.

What Completed Means

Completed means the payment fully went through.

This is the status that tells the team the money is confirmed.

What Requires Action Means

Requires Action means one more step is needed.

Examples:

  • extra bank verification
  • extra card verification
  • customer needs to complete another step

If a payment says Requires Action, it is not done yet.

What Failed Means

Failed means the payment did not go through.

The customer must try again or use a different payment method.

Simple Script For Sales Staff

Use short sentences:

  • Card payments are usually faster.
  • ACH bank payments usually take about 4 days to confirm.
  • Sometimes ACH takes longer.
  • Pending means the payment started, but it has not cleared yet.
  • We cannot move the project forward until the payment shows Completed.

Safe Rule

If the payment is not Completed, treat it as not ready yet.

Do not promise scheduling, ordering, manufacturing, or installation based on a Pending ACH payment.
