Quickstart

First-day setup and orientation for new Tempr users.

This guide is for a new internal user who has access to Tempr but does not yet know where to start.

First-Day Checklist

1
Confirm your access

Make sure you can sign in through the external authentication flow and reach the main Tempr application without permission errors.

2
Verify your role-based areas

Confirm which panels and routes you are expected to use. Most users do not need every panel.

3
Check your profile ownership

If you are in sales or customer-facing operations, verify that leads, customers, tasks, or phone extensions can be assigned to your user account.

4
Review active work

Open your lead queue, task list, or scheduled work for the day so you can see the records you actually own.

5
Learn the project lifecycle

Read the workflow pages linked below before editing live records. Tempr is heavily state-driven, so actions often depend on the current project, payment, or work-order state.

Core Rules For New Users

  • Do not assume every screen is for every role. Many areas are permission-based or team-specific.
  • Learn the difference between a Customer, a Project, and a Work Order before making updates.
  • Use tasks for follow-up accountability. Use comments or notes when the next person needs context.
  • Treat project state, sale state, payment state, and work-order state as the source of truth for what should happen next.
  • Use specialized panels for specialized work. For example, telephony, QuickBooks sync, and inventory each have dedicated surfaces.

Common Places To Check First

AreaWhy you would open it
/leadsReview, assign, qualify, or follow up on inbound opportunities.
/tasksSee what has been assigned to you or your team.
/telephonyReview calls and manage extension assignments.
/reportalRun operational or sales reports.
/inventoryHandle inventory-specific work and barcode scanning.
/qbo-managerInvestigate accounting sync issues and QuickBooks workflows.

If something looks missing, first verify that you are in the correct panel and that your role includes permission to see that feature.
